Bowling

Today was a good day. This afternoon we met Sharon and Jake at the bowling alley in Conroe (Sharon had some free passes for the kids to bowl) I always get a big kick of the kids bowling with the bumpers. So we ordered some lunch at the snack bar, the kids had grilled cheese and I had a cheeseburger. The kids played some video games, and yes I played a couple games of my favorite ms.pac man. After that we headed for home. We always enjoy seeing Jake and Sharon.
Later in the evening Rons friend Brian came over for a visit. It had been awhile since we had seen him.

Surprise

Today the kids had a special delivery from their sissy shell. She sent Kaitlyn her belated birthday card with a $50 gift card to Justice (Kailtlyns favorite store) well sissy was very generous, and got Ryan a $50 gift card from Toys R us. So I guess I will be taking the kids shopping for what they want. Thanks sissy!!!
Tonight Ronnie came over, and we had pizza. He played the Wii with the kids. He is an awesome big brother to the kids.
I placed an order for Just Dance for the Wii, I am excited to get it.

Fall Festival

Last weekend we attended the kids Fall Festival (largest fundraiser of the year) The kids always have a blast, they have jump houses, glam stations, zoomobile. Ryan got a mohawk, and tatoos at the Biker station. They sell cakes and candy. The kids did the spin art this year, and it turned out really cool. Ronnie, and Kristan met us up there. They had pizza and nachos. So nice too see all the families there.

Temp.Job

The 1st week of November I got a temp job with a company that does Benfits for city entitys, and schools. I really liked my boss eventhough she was only there 1 day. I basically did data entry, phones, made up benefit packets. I enjoyed how "stress free it was" for my 1st "getting back into the workforce" job it was great. I really wished it could have gone into something permanent part-time. Guess it was not meant too be. i know there is something better out there. Getting 2 paychecks has been awesome. Ready too work on my 3rd.

I kicked back for awhile and watched a little Law and Order while the kids played outside. Then we headed to the mall around 5:30 (trying too avoid all the trick-or -treaters)We stopped by Justice, because Kaitlyn had a 40% off coupon so she bought a peace sign snuggy (very cute) Ryan bought a lolly pop. We then headed too see Secretariat. The kids got a kids pack (drink, popcorn and candy) I got twizzlers. What a great movie, I got a little misty eyed. So that was our evening. Kaitlyns 8th Birthday

On Sunday (10/10/10) we threw Kaitlyn an 8th birthday party. So hard to believe my baby girl is 8. We rented a bounce house (always a favorite for the kids) we had about 10 of Kaitlyns friends over. The weather was perfect. The kids were jumping, and having a great time. I got in there for a little bit,and the kids thought that was great. Ron and Ronnie got in there with the kids also (that was a hoot) I got a really cute cake (pink and purple) with a peace sign (she loved it) Ron bbqd hamburgers and hotdogs, there was potato salad, and chips. I bought this cool sparkler that was a # 8 too put on Kaitlyns cake. She really liked that also. People started leaving around 4:30.

Kaitlyns friend Cami ended up spending the night (no school the next day) I asked Kaitlyn how she liked everything, and she said it was "an awesome birthday"

I sent little beaded necklace making kits as the party favor (that was a hit) Let the clean up begin

Guess whos coming to Dinner

Guess whos Coming to Dinner is such a fun activity that our church does. After church Mrs.Powell gave us a map to the peoples house we were going to, we had no idea whos house it was,and the Host people did not know who was coming either.I had to jet back home, and pick up the bottle of wine and juice that I was suppose to bring. So we headed up to Montgomery (about 1 hour away) we ended up at Michelle Gordons(she is the oldest child in a family of 10 kids) there were other kids there for my kids too hang out with. We ate enchiladas, fajitas, salad and other veggies-what a yummy meal. After we had chocolate cake with ice cream (killed watching my calories) drank some Baileys, the conversation was awesome. It was so nice getting too know new brethren. Looking forward to the next one. I forgot my camera in the car, and it was pouring rain outside.

Boating on Lake Conroe

My friend Stacy won a contest at work, and the prize was a 4 hour pontoon boat rental. The boat held 10 people. I was so excited too get out on the lake and swim. So we loaded up our coolers and towels, and headed out. We stopped and anchored the boat, and jumped in the lake, it was so nice because there were pockets of cool water,so that is where I stayed. There were 2 other kids on the boat so our kids had someone there age too hang out with. All the kids had a turn too drive the boat. The weather was great. So we appreciated the invite, Stacy is such a sweet lady.

Dolphin Project

About 2 weeks before the end of school Kaitlyn had too do an Animal project for school. She picked the dolphin. We had too do some kind of visual, and then 5 facts about dolphins. I am not really creative when it comes too that kind of stuff. Ronnie came over ,and helped us create a visual of dolphins jumping in the waves. We all really enjoyed working on the project, and Kailtyn got a check +.

Pink Parlor Party

A couple of weeks ago I took Kaitlyn to the Pink Parlor Party, it was a party for little girls. Kaitly had her nails, hair and sparkly makeup done. They had food from Chik-fil-a there, after she was done a photographer took a picture of her. This was a fundraiser for Katy Hayes. So I was happy to help out a family in need, and Kaitlyn had fun.

So I took the kids to Ronnies and let them play with Penny. They fell in love. So I told them they could have the dog. He is really sweet. He is pretty much potty trained to go outside. So he is our new addition to the family.

Girls in Kaitlyns Class-Super Kids Day

Super Kids Day

Super Kids Day is such a blast for the parents and kids. Each grade has a different color tye dye shirt on, this year Ryan was orange and Kaitlyn was red. I had a shirt made that was red and orange. I was there by 8:00 to help set up the concession stand, what a fun day to work at the CANDY concession stand-I was there from 8:00 till 2:00, it was so great to get too know all the PTA moms. When Kaitlyn and Ryans clasess came out I hung out with them. They had a rock wall, always a hit with the kids. There were 32 stations that had different games. Such a huge effort, and the kids love it. I was pretty tired when I got home, but what a good day.

Jan 28th and Feb 11th

The one year anniversary if my mothers passing came on January 28th,hard to believe it has already been a year. What an Amazing mother I was so blessed to have, she had so much heart and soul, and loved people completely.I waited for this time in my life for 8 years, kids in school,no work and all the time in the world to spend with my mom. I had so many plans, my life was about to be more amazing. I had trips planned, going berry picking, going to Whole Foods. She just was more sunshine in my life. I miss her terribly like a hole in my heart. Some days are so depressing and then other days I find great Joy in my life. I remember her helping me with the kids when they had a 104 degree temps, and Ron was in California visitng family. She stayed up all night with me just keeping those 2 babies cool and hydrated. Also after I had Kaitlyn she put a roast in the crock pot for us and cleaned our house. She was always there for me, I could always count on her. What happy memories I hold in my heart. God blessed me by sending me to live in Texas,I got to spend so much time with her, lots of good times. For that I am so thankful.

On Feb 11th it was 15 years since my dad passed. He was so awesome. He always told us he loved us, and always so affectionate. I was devasted when he died. I remember when he took me to get my license and helped me buy my first car. What a blessing he was to me. I miss him so much. In this life I had 2 wonderful parents. My cup over floweth. Mom and dad you will forever be in my heart, and I pray that i can continue the legacy that you left behind, and remind my kids of their wonderful grandmother and grandpa. Love forever.

College

I am taking a Government class that goes towards my AA degree. I am trying to get my 60 credits so that I can do substitute teaching (perfect schedule-Work when I want) off on holidays and summer. As I get more into my AA I will consider going for my teaching degree. I am so not a behind the desk kind of person, and I really dislike Accounting (what I have done for the past 8 years) Volunteering at the school, and doing presentations like Art Masterpiece and Junior Achievement where I have to give a presentation to the kids, that just is preparation for being a teacher. The school the kids go to is so awesome, everybody works together, and there is so many parent volunteers. I really feel like God placed us where we need to be. Very encouraging and uplifting.

8 year Anniversary

In 2009 Ron and i celebrated our 8 year anniversary. Ron surprised me with red roses and a pretty card. Ronnie and Kristan took care of the kids, and we headed to downtown Houston to do some touring. Before dinner we had some drinks at a pub, and there was some kind of disturbance up the street, and the police were there, well this homeless man who was part of the disturbance (nothing violent) came over an asked for some money because he was hungary, well Ron invited the guy to sit down (okay we had a few drinks in us)so we started talking to him, and I left to get a menu so I could order this man a sandwich, when I came back this white cop grabbed the man and handcuffed him on the spot. Well the bartender of the pub came out and told us to never feed the animals, well I told him that the homeless man was a human being, and basically that was not cool to say, well we had to leave because I was getting mad about what the bartender said, and about to come unglued.
We stayed at the Doubletree Hotel (very nice) drank Champagne. For dinner we ate a Japanese restaurant had some yummy sushi. I really enjoyed walking around the city.
To cap off the evening we had drinks at the Hyatt Hotel. I love anniversary getaways.

Kaitlyn & Sophia

Kaitlyn and Sophia wanted to get some pictures together. Sophia is in Kaitlyns class, and she lives a block over from us. They get along good, and talk like teenagers on the telephone.
