Cute Little Indian

Thanksgiving Dinner

Today Kaitlyn's school hosted a Thanksgiving meal for the entire school, and parents could come and eat with their kids. I arrived at 9:00 to hel set up the tables. The kids from Kaitlyn's class arrived at 10:00 to go through the lunch line. She was dressed like an Indian, and was really happy I was having lunch with her. It was nice to sit and chat with her.

Shopping

Today I ventured out to buy some Thanksgiving cards and a frying pan and some other misc. items. Thanksgiving hasn't even arrived and the stores were packed. I am so glad I don't have to be stressed out trying to buy Christmas gifts. I bought the kids a couple of little things. It was nice to get out and shop minus the kids.
I guess it is only going to get worse from now until Christmas. I guess people are still spending money here in Texas, I read on Yahoo that we are a state that is at risk for a recession, but not yet in one.
Fun day

Family Campout

This weekend we attended the annual Houston North Campout at Lake Livingston. The weather got cold at night, the days were beautiful. My mom and Jim purchased a motorhome so we lived in luxury for the weekend. The kids had so much fun seeing their cousins. We had a nice time visiting with the brethren. We made smores (yummy)

Rons Car

Ron was driving to work this past Thursday at about 4:00am and he said that out of the blue he hit a deer. I was shocked that he hit the deer on a main street, I guess it was so early and their were not many folks on the road. The deer did about $3,000.00 damage to the car. It will take 2 weeks to fix Ron's car, so he had to rent a car so he could go to work. Poor little deer. Ron was okay (I am sooo thankful it was not worse)

Last Saturday night (November 8th)we had John and Marsha Perry over along with their son Chris and his new wife Rachel. Ron cooked hi amazing Salmon (people always rave about how good it is) We had such nice conversation, they are very sweet people. It was a great night of fun and fellowship.

Tom the turkey in Disguise

Working on the Turkey Art Project

Thanksgiving Turkey

Kaitlyn brought home a turkey art project for the family to do. Tom the turkey was going to be Thanksgiving dinner, so we had to put him in a disguise so he could make it through Thanksgiving. What a fun project, well we put him in a dress and made him look like the pop star Hannah Montana. The teacher hung all the turkeys in the class room.
On November 25th Greentree is having a big Thanksgiving Feast in the Cafeteria,we have invited Grandmother to come and see Kaitlyn's school, so we will have a nice lunch with Kaitlyn.

Greentree Challenge

Kaitlyn's school 4 times a year has the Greentree Challenge. Families come out and either walk or run to earn points for their childs class, you have to walk around this path 1 time to get a point. Well I got 3 points for Kaitlyn's class and Ryan did the same. We had so much fun. After the event parents supplied popsicles to all the kids. Good day

Triplets

I just read an article about a 56 year old Ohio women that gave birth to her daughters triplet babies. What an awesome act of love and sacrifice. What a story the grandma will have to tell her grandkids.

Family fun/Doctor

Tonight after Ron got home from work we ate sloppy joe's and played a game of Candyland with the kids (what a cute game) it is really helping Ryan out with learning his colors. Kaitlyn also read 2 books to the family for her school reading program, she is doing really good.

Earlier today I took Kaitlyn to the doctor and she has an ear infection, I feel so bad for that kid she has been plagued almost her whole life. I use to get them really bad as a kid and man are they painful. So we have her on medicine much to my chagrin. She goes back in 10 days for a follow up.

Pre Feast Trip to San Antonio

Before the Feast we headed for San Antonio and the famed Riverwalk. We took a boat ride along the Riverwalk what a pretty sight. They have restaurants and shops along the walk. Something for everyone to see.

Old McDonald Farm

My sister-in-law from California came down for a visit 2 days after we got power back on from Hurricane Ike. We had a great visit with Cindy. We took the kids along with Chase who was staying with us for the weekend to Old McDonald Farm. There is a petting zoo, Train that goes around the park, they also had play areas and a sand box. The kids had a blast feeding the deer, and riding the horses.

Neighbors House

This was the first bands of Hurricane Ike, the weather got way worse about 1:30 am on September 13,2008.

Down power line

Pictures from Hurricane IKE

Hurricane Ike was a huge storm, a lot of people suffered some kind of damage. Some more than others. We were without power for 2 weeks. There was a power line down in our neighborhood. Ronnie brought a generator to us the last 4 days of no power. I was cool with having no power, we BBq'd outside we had food, water and ice, the thing that stunk was not being able to do laundry. Ronnie got his power on before we did so I went to his house and did about 10 loads of laundry. I am so happy we have power back.
