This was the first bands of Hurricane Ike, the weather got way worse about 1:30 am on September 13,2008.

Down power line

Pictures from Hurricane IKE

Hurricane Ike was a huge storm, a lot of people suffered some kind of damage. Some more than others. We were without power for 2 weeks. There was a power line down in our neighborhood. Ronnie brought a generator to us the last 4 days of no power. I was cool with having no power, we BBq'd outside we had food, water and ice, the thing that stunk was not being able to do laundry. Ronnie got his power on before we did so I went to his house and did about 10 loads of laundry. I am so happy we have power back.

Movies

It has been so crazy busy since the Hurricane that I have not kept up with the blogging. Well today is a gorgeous fall day (yaaa cool weather) I took Kaitlyn and Ryan along with two neighbor girls (Alyssa and Lauren) to see Beverly Hills Chihuaha, what a cute movie. All four of the kids sat on the edge of their seats the whole time. The kids and I had a great time.
Ron was at one of our rentals doing some yard work. We also bought a couch for our family room, now I finally can get that room in order.
Good times good times

More blogging to come of our Feast trip and visit from my sister-in-law and of course hurricane Ike.

Hurricane Ike

We are watching Hurricane Ike as it moves across the Gulf of Mexico, there are some reports that it can be as strong as a Cat4. Basically now the coastal areas are being evacuated. Tomorrow and Friday will be more telling of where Ike will hit. Hurricanes are scary, but the good part about it is you can get out before it hits your area. There are still 2 more months of Hurricane Season, it sure has been a wild one so far.

Music Festival

Every year on Labor Day Weekend our church-Houston North sponsers a Music festival located at the North hall. Church members set up tents and the brethren bring their lawn chairs and sit and enjoy music from bands around Texas. This year the talent was very good. The kids enjoy seiing their friends. We arrived about 1:00 and did not leave until 8:00. So we are looking forward to next years event. Oh ya this year they served yummy burritos.
